Weaving with Paper

 Last Friday, me and my class were doing science. For science we we were learning how to harvest Harekeke. We watched a video about it. Then we watched a video of how to show kaitiakitanga to our environment. Then we did weaving using strips of paper instead of Harekeke leaves. I used a video to weave. I made a turtle using purple and red paper. First I wove a square. I cut out the circle and glued it on the square I had wove. Then I cut the circle out and glued it on a turtle shape.

Yesterday me and my family worked together to make a cake. We experimented it since we hadn't made one like this before. First we gathered the ingredients. Ingredients: 8 tablespoon self-raising flour, 6 tablespoon  Vegetable Oil, 1 Egg (we used condensed milk instead), 2 tablespoon Cocoa Powder (you can add more according to how much chocolaty you want to make it), Milk 6 tablespoons (but you can add more if necessary), 4 tablespoon Sugar, 1 tablespoon Chocolate Chips (optional), 2 tablespoon Vanilla Essence, Bowl and a Plate. These are the steps. First add 8 tablespoons of self-raising flour. Then, add 4 tablespoons of sugar. Next add 4 tablespoons of Cocoa Powder and mix it altogether. Then add the egg or whatever you are using. Next put in 6 tablespoons of milk, 6 tablespoons of Vegetable Oil, and mix carefully. Next add 1 tablespoon chocolate chips (optional). Then add the vanilla essence. Stir it carefully. Then get your plate and put it under the bowl and put both of them into the microwave to rise for 3 to 4 mins. You might be wondering why we have the plate. Well it is because it might explode out of the bowl and to make sure your microwave doesn't get all dirty. When it out of the microwave wait for it to cool and then carefully take it out of the bowl. Don't forget to share and enjoy! 

Art Is Fun!

On the weekend, I made a paper boat after watching a video of how to make one. I decided to decorate it. I drew patterns on it and it looked good! Then I watched a clip of how to draw a butterfly and drew  one. Then my mum coloured it in for me and helped me put glitter on it. I also made a rocket out of paper rolls. Then I made two puppets  out of old, little socks. I also watched a video for that. Meanwhile, my sister was making a pencil holder out of paper rolls with my dad for help with the printing and the hot glue gun. Then my dad helped me by sticking the eyes, hair and a bow on my puppet. I also made a building out of toothpicks. My whole  family helped, so we also spent family time while doing art. Yesterday, I was in the garden doing some science. I was finding insects. I found heaps of worms, baby slugs, ladybugs, centipedes, and more. We looked in the ground but since it was dry we only found centipedes instead of worms. Then me, my sister, and my mum, looked under pots we had grew plants in. And we found heaps of worms and baby slugs! We went looking for ladybugs in our mandarin tree since it was where all the ladybugs came. First I found some ladybugs but we couldn't snap photos of them but then I found one on a nearby leave and then I took photos. Today I also drew a picture of  a praying mantis and made a word art about insects. Here are some photos.
